Yahweh. God’s name in Hebrew. Since the Jewish people were forbidden from saying it, the scribes wrote the vowels for adonai, the Hebrew word for Lord, with these consonants so they would remember to say “Lord” instead of calling God by his first name. When German archeologists found the texts, they transliterated the word Jehovah as the name of God. It’s really Yaweh, meaning “I am.” When you look at a Bible and see LORD all in CAPS, it’s Yahweh.
